PROPOSED TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF MULLINE DAVYHURST ROAD

On Wednesday, 24 April 2024, the Council resolved to allow Ora Banda Mining to temporarily close Mulline Davyhurst Road between their haul road at Davyhurst and the intersection with Evanston Menzies Road. The closure is in accordance with Section 3.50 (1a) of the Local Government Act 1955.

The closure is to allow for heavy haulage vehicles to use the road for the purpose of hauling ore from Riverina mine to the Davyhurst mill. The closure will be reviewed each May and extended at the Council’s discretion for as long as necessary.

Commencing 1 June 2024, members of the public who wish to use the road will need to complete a permit. Permits will be available from the Shire office, Ora Banda’s offices at Riverina and Davyhurst, and at each end of the closed road. The permit will be a simple form informing the applicant of any dangers or special conditions along the road and will require date, name and vehicle registration to be completed. The form will need to be placed in a box provided at one of the aforementioned locations. Permits will also be able to be applied for online. Permits will generally be for three days, though for regular users, permits of a longer duration may be applicable.

Ora Banda Mining employees and contractors will not require a permit.
